Rose Magazine has a page that details classes (of roses) that existed prior to 1867 when the first hybrids were introduced.
I’ve heard many references to dead roses, but never “old” roses, so there’s probably a story here that I won’t be able to figure out very easily. It’s probably got a Catholic theme, given the nature of those bumper stickers and location of the vehicle on a sunny Sunday morning.
The Free Dictionary gives a predictable definition for “old roses”, but I don’t think that’s the intended message for this plate. I’m guessing it has something to do with life, love and some older folks who may be a group of Catholic friends, but who knows? Maybe the driver will stumble over this page and let us know!
