Wow, there sure are a lot of V888′s out there! Google returns 65,000 search results that vary from a UK driver information release form (V888) to a not quite fabulous looking PMP (V888) from China. There’s also an old karaoke DVD / LASERDISC unit from Pioneer with model number V888 and an electronic tennis racket stringer with the same model number. The V888 audio router looks interesting. There are a number of mobile phones with model number V888 as well as many, many more search results.
I’m thinking the owner of this Mercedes C230 Kompressor may be the owner of the domain v888.com (just a parked advertising domain) because the C230 is a 1.8-liter hatchback. There’s no V-8 under that hood! Also, there’s a Carspace user named “V888″ that I would guess is the same dude, but there is no activity or identifying information on that site.
I still have no idea and don’t really want to guess what the initial meaning behind V888 was. It’s gotta be cool though, right?
