There’s not much agreement on the origin of this Scottish slang phrase. My personal Scot translator tells me…

it is basically oh yes or that’s right!!

There’s some speculation on this phrase being the origin of “OK” (or okay) in American English, but Oxford says no. In any case, this Ford Escape driver is likely a Scot and is all about affirming the positive.
